As an Approved Activity Provider Mountaineerin takes health and safety very seriously and works to ensure that risk is reduced to an absolute minimum. as part of any programme health and safety and emergency procedures will be incorporated into all training delivered and throughout the expedition itself.
Mountaineerin is an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. This licence ensures that Mountaineerin operates within the parameters and spirit of the Award. The licence also provides an opportunity for the DofE to assess Mountaineerins’ suitability to deliver DofE activities.
All of our instructors have undergone an enhanced DBS check and have been cleared to work with children and young people. All staff and instructors are also aware of Mountaineerin child protection policy and know what to do if they have any concerns about a child or young person. Safeguarding is taken very seriously with Mountaineerin and any matters arising will be dealt with according to the policy in place.
All instructors employed by Mountaineerin have been checked to ensure they hold the correct level of qualification to deliver the activities on offer. In addition Mountaineerin also takes into account an instructors level of experience as well as their qualification to ensure you get the best. All instructors have a current first aid certificate of at least a 16 hour first aid at work course. Our instructors are continually looking to develop professionally and increase their skill base.
Mountaineerin has fully completed the AALA process and now holds a Licence for Hill Walking and Mountaineering activities. Adventure activities licensing ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices. This licence should allow young people to experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors without being exposed to avoidable risks of death or disabling injury. As with all adventurous activities it is important that suitable insurance is sought. Mountaineerin ensures that it’s insurance cover meets the requirements of the outdoor industry. Mountaineerin is fully insured for the activities it provides.
Our packages are fully managed and include training, expeditions, group equipment, supervision & assessment.
